About Me
Licensed Professional Counselor
My name is Cassandra Clinton, and I bring over 30 years of experience working with disadvantaged populations and more than 15 years as a counseling professional. I hold a B.A. in Criminal Justice from New Jersey City University and earned my M.A. in Counseling from Capella University in 2012.
As both a professional and a parent of a 37-year-old moderately autistic son, I have a unique perspective and deep understanding of the challenges families and caregivers face. This personal experience has strengthened my commitment to supporting individuals, parents, and caregivers as they navigate complex circumstances with compassion and resilience.
I am certified as a New Jersey School Counselor and a Student Assistance Coordinator (SAC) with the State of New Jersey.
A bit about my approach to therapy
I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and other evidence-based approaches to help clients gain greater self-awareness, improve coping strategies, and recognize the vital role mental health plays in fostering healthy relationships and daily well-being.
What you can expect from our first session
At Unique Journey Counseling Services, clients can expect a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where they feel heard and understood. My goal is to meet each person where they are and work collaboratively to build healthier coping strategies, strengthen emotional resilience, and develop a deeper sense of self-awareness.
